Latest news in the Lamp household: We have bought a new house!!! Nearly doubled our square footage, we have been growing out of our current home for a while now and it was more than time to make the plunge. Within 2 weeks we both bought (and sold) a house (thanks to my mom and family friends who found us a wonderful buyer!) Now we are just sitting among boxes and waiting for a closing date... I will post better pictures as I get them, the video is a little hard to tell what things look like, but I couldn't resist.
Our new address is 2002 16th Ave SE... Enjoy the show:
Well we're movin on up
to the southeast side
we grew out of our house and thats no lie
movin on up
to the southeast side
We finally got a piece of the pie
Huge don't describe our kitchen
but I don't cook anyway
our new square foot is much bigger
so jack's got more room to play
Now we live across from the Vickerys
New owners of a sweet corner lot
But don't get us wrong, our house on Canal
It's not one to be forgot
Well we're movin on up,
To the southeast side
We grew out of our house and that's no lie
Movin on up
to the southeast side
We finally got a piece of the pie!
"The poorest, the weakest, the simplest child, is born for immortality. This value outweighs the entire material universe, no matter how small a mark this child makes on it. The tiniest infant owns a deathless intellect, and is as immortal as the Father of spirits. No one can tell what this child will become."
~ A Prebyterian Pastor who died in 1873
"And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise."

Yet Another Scrap Project
This project was done to mainly make space and make our house less cluttered, it just so happened a drawer I wanted to use to stick trinkets in was FULL of Jack's DVDs.
My friend Marsha took a scrapping class where they made DVD holders so I took the opportunity to use her example and empty a drawer for other things. Marsha used metal rings to bind her book but once we got all of Jack's DVDs in sleeves I was very unsure on how to bind it bc there are no rings large enough for this book.
I feel like I must explain the bow on the side of a "Boy's DVD Book" I had Marsha punch holes in the cover and backing then threaded a ribbon through them, the ribbon will allow me to add any future sleeves.
We got rid of all the DVD cases except the Disney ones and placed them all his discs in alphabetical order, also it was so big I had to use an elastic band to keep it closed. It turned out to be a much larger project than I had expected.
But I was pleased with the outcome.

*I added a "J" to the back of the front cover in the event we have another little one, I didn't want the book to say "Jack's DVDs" but the "J" gave it a little personalization*
My Final Recipe Box!!!
So I have been working on recipe boxes for friends and family since November. I gave them out as gifts and personalized them as well. I really had so much fun making them until I was making #8, then that's when I became over both the trying to be creative and individualize them and the Taylor Swift Cd's I had playing on repeat while I was working on them.
After a 3 month sabbatical I had one box left and one of my best friends' sisters loves to cook and wanted a recipe box so I gave in and thought "well at least that will get rid of the ONE recipe box that keeps staring at me unfinished."
So I painted the stripes on the box and then the scrapping block kicked and I was stuck with a half finished recipe box. (For about a month.)
Finally, the mood struck me one day and here is the final product.

Jack's ready for next hunting season! I mean Church
I went to Eloise and Henry last week and they had a WONDERFUL sale rack, I saw this little outfit from the back and thought it was Christmas so I paid no attention to it. The next week I went back in to make sure I hadn't missed anything and when I turned this little green outfit around I fell in LOVE with the little hunting ducks!
(Most "duck" outfits are baby chicks and such)
Here's how much I loved it..... He is wearing a 24mo- 2T now and this outfit was a 18-24 mo. So at the MOST he could wear it maybe another 2 weeks. Let's just say when I was dressing him for Church he wasn't too thrilled with the pulling I had to do on the stride to get it snapped.
He did wear it today to school for St. Patty's day but I'm pretty sure it's going to be hung up and archived with his other clothes I wish I could squeeze him back into! See: Stuart, if you would just had let me stick with day gowns we wouldn't have to worry about outfits not fitting at the stride. (I can't say I didn't try, Stuart assured me he would never be the coolest kid in the room if he showed up to kindergarten in a day gown.)
Oh and don't worry he is totally safe if he were to wonder out in the woods in this outfit... (hunting season is over :)

Oh The Innocent Days
I am currently having our home videos converted to DVD and when I was going through them this clip came up (it was in between a Christmas play).
I sent the clip to mom first and when she pulled it up she said:
"Who is that?"
"WHAT?? What do you mean WHO IS THAT?"
"Well I just a see a picture of a little girl"
"Mom... you aren't serious... you don't know who that is?"
Then she played the clip and I suppose that's when she recognized her OWN daughters!
Still not sure if I should be offended by that comment or not...
