"The poorest, the weakest, the simplest child, is born for immortality. This value outweighs the entire material universe, no matter how small a mark this child makes on it. The tiniest infant owns a deathless intellect, and is as immortal as the Father of spirits. No one can tell what this child will become."

~ A Prebyterian Pastor who died in 1873

"And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise."

Happy Birthday Papa

Somebodys Papa turns the big 50 this month....

So for this occasion your mo
mommy channeled her inner Martha Stewart and produced a very special cake...

You sure helped your mommy a lot, I couldn't have done it without you... First, you started by showing interest in cartoons so mommy popped in Nemo before baking and you finished helping mommy by being the most quiet little mouse ever. Oh you did want me to hold you while I was separating eggs, you found that so fascinatingthat  you forgot why you were being a whiny hiney.

Happy Birthday Papa... We love you

It begins....

Sunday we had given you your bath and got you all ready for church, while mommy and daddy were getting ready we popped you in your swing and as I was running back and forth I caught a glimpse of this.....

You had your whole little head turned all the way around and you were GLUED to some stupid movie your daddy had been watching. Ace Ventura Pet Detective.

Don't think we aren't taking full advantage of your new found pleasure, now when you get a little whiney we move your swing and put something fun on and you forget what you were whining about... Today you watched your first Disney movie, Finding Nemo (first of MANY).

You even wore your nemo wrist rattle your daddy bought you on a business trip.

Everyday with you is a new adventure and we love to see what new thing you can do, you hold your head up so well (not completely but for a few seconds at a time.) You smile at your daddy and me and we can tell you recognize us and it just makes us feel so complete and happy.

This ones for Aunt Sophie

Mommy's sweet co-worker Mrs. Jeannie found me an AU outfit that fit you, you have quite a few but none of them fit. She searched and searched until she found something small enough to go with the booties and passy that she bought you. So here you are game day ready in your Aunt Sophie's school colors and Mrs. Jeannie's FAVORITE colors of all time (if I took you to her cube at work you would be so camouflaged we wouldn't be able to see you.)

Anyway for Mrs. Jeannie and Aunt Sophie...............    WAR EAGLE!!!

Oh yea, this is the pic mommy finally saw that you were losing your hair on top, you look a little silly but too cute to mater.

"These are a few of our favorite things"

1 month old

Here you are at 1 month old, it has gone by so fast.  You make the funniest faces. You weigh about 8lbs now and we started you on rice cereal at night, although daddy thinks you would prefer cocoa puffs but they wouldn't fit through the nipple.

Your are the sweetest little boy in the world and you change everyday.

Daddy's Good Luck Charm

Your trip to Birmingham went great, you were a perfect angel, "a perfect shopper" (Aunt Andrea) , and "a perfect good luck charm" (Daddy).

We arrived in Birmingham at Aunt Andrea and Uncle Brett's house about noon and your Daddy dropped us off and went to his work meeting. Me and A decided to take you on your first shopping trip while Uncle Brett stayed home to watch the Northwestern game (his Alma mater). We went to the Summit and it was a pretty hot day but you did great you slept through the whole thing until we were 1 min from A's house and you decided you were very hungry, but other than that you didn't make a peep.

This is a picture of your onsee Aunt Andrea bought you, I thought it would be perfect to apply for a job at mommy's work. I thought they could build a small cube right next to mine.

Later that night daddy had his first race with his new team Tria Market, this was his first race since you were born also. It was a little hot but you didn't seem to mind it. Mommy, you and your Aunt and Uncle went to the race about 8pm and finally found a parking place, you were sound asleep until we finally got our chairs out and found a good place to sit. You cried a little on and off. Until daddy pulled up to see you before his race.
We took a quick family picture.... and the race was on. Your daddy did so good, and you were screaming for him (or a clean diaper). Finally mommy walked alllllllll the way back to the car to get your diaper bag (being the first outing as a new mom I left it in the car). We changed your diaper on my chair.....
And then you were happy, so happy in fact we let you sit there. I wasn't totally convinced the only reason you were crying was your diaper but I knew you were happy at that moment and didn't want to disrupt you...
Your daddy did so well for his new team he came in 3rd, we had to get you back to feed you so that's why we aren't in the podium picture but we will be there next time.
