"The poorest, the weakest, the simplest child, is born for immortality. This value outweighs the entire material universe, no matter how small a mark this child makes on it. The tiniest infant owns a deathless intellect, and is as immortal as the Father of spirits. No one can tell what this child will become."

~ A Prebyterian Pastor who died in 1873

"And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise."

~ (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)

Welcome Home Jack

Jack Avery Lamp

Sweet Baby Boy.... where do I start? You were born on September 1st, 2008. Your dad and I went to the hospital around 7:15 that morning and 6:52 pm you completely turned our lives around. (The hours in between I will omit to keep this post pleasant). You weighed 6lbs 3oz and were 19in long, you have the deepest blue eyes it is so easy to get lost in them and your fingers and toes are so long... You were the only baby in the whole nursery that night and you were so good the nurses said you didn't cry at all and they had to wake you up to eat. We have been so blessed you have been such a good baby and aside from one night that your tummy hurt we have had such a quiet peaceful and happy baby.

We went home on Wednesday 3rd of Sept and you did not cry you just made this face you made. I took a picture with my phone and sent it to your dad in the front seat, I told him it looked like you were thinking "turn the music down dad"...

Your Aunt Sophie came in from Auburn to see you but had to leave for school before she got to hold you... she cried but we kept her updated your whole first week with text messages and text pictures we even sent her your first big poop, it was pretty gross but we were so excited... don't worry I won't post it although I would like to... anyway (our phone bill is going to be outrageous from all the pics sent, but we don't mind)

Aunt Andrea (or Auntie A) not sure which she prefers stayed until Thursday and was so much help she ran errands and helped your mommy so much. Uncle Brett stayed until right before you were born he had to leave to catch a flight but we are going to see them this weekend, it will be your first official trip, I am a little nervous but excited too.

What an adventure this will be my baby... we are looking forward to our tomorrows with you.

Oh and Francie immediately took on her mommy role, she beats us to the nursery when you cry and makes sure your blanket coverage is to her liking.
