"The poorest, the weakest, the simplest child, is born for immortality. This value outweighs the entire material universe, no matter how small a mark this child makes on it. The tiniest infant owns a deathless intellect, and is as immortal as the Father of spirits. No one can tell what this child will become."

~ A Prebyterian Pastor who died in 1873

"And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise."

The Recession Lullaby by Whitney Lamp

Since having a baby during the economic recession, I thought Sophie-Paige needed to be caught up on the state of our country. So, I wrote (at 4 am this morning) what I have titled:
"The Recession Lullaby"
Hush little baby don't say a word;
... Mama's gonna rent you a mocking bird.
If that mocking bird gets reposessed,
Mama's gonna buy you a second hand dress.
If that second hand dress falls apart,
Mama's gonna charge one on a credit card.
And if that credit card gets declined,
Daddy's gonna find us a silver mine.
If that silver mine is broke,
Mama's gonna sell our car note.
Eventhough we're really poor,
We'll always love you forevermore.
