"The poorest, the weakest, the simplest child, is born for immortality. This value outweighs the entire material universe, no matter how small a mark this child makes on it. The tiniest infant owns a deathless intellect, and is as immortal as the Father of spirits. No one can tell what this child will become."

~ A Prebyterian Pastor who died in 1873

"And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise."

~ (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)

Effects of Caffeine

My mom told me that a LITTLE bit of sweet tea helps a croupy cough (I think) she said it helps something, so I gave Jack a little bit with a lot of water in his new sippy cup only 30 min before his bedtime. Well, as your probably thinking, this was a bad idea.... Below is a video of Jack at bedtime.

Also here is a picture of Jack enjoying a nice slice of a remote control

Jack in Baby Jumper

Weekend Events

Saturday, while Stu and Jack were at the park Heather and I snuck off to the Dave Matthews concert in Nashville. We had fun except Dave didn't start until 8:45 and it made me feel so old, there were people my grandparents age and groups of middle school kids with chaperons EVERYWHERE, I don't remember feeling so out of place the first time I went in 9th GRADE.

Considering Stuart and I go to bed between 8 and 9, when 10 o'clock rolled around I was zapped plus walking around in the hot sun hours before didn't help. I made a deal with Heather that if I bought her dinner we could leave (it was about 4 songs in). I know, I know but I was so tired and there were so many people there AND we had a long drive ahead of us. We got home at 12:45 and I was never so happy to be home in my life. Sorry I was such a bad date Heather but I did have fun doing something different.

This is Dave playing Burning Down the House, my favorite part of the show...

This was the line we had to wait in...

Andrea and Brett are winding things down as their homestead is about to move to San Fran, Stuart and I will gladly be inheriting things as they pack up, we received our first gift Sunday, A NEW COUCH... (new to us) We needed it so badly and are very grateful to Andrea and Brett. We will take good care of it.

On another note, The Coviak family needs your thoughts and prayers this coming month. They lost a little boy to Pyloric Stenosis 3 years ago and his birthday is coming around May 7th. I cannot even imagine the heartache this family is going through day to day. Every year they release balloons with their address on it and let them go, they have received so many touching letters from people from all over who have found the letter and address. In his memory Rachel has asked that we release balloons with a note or even his name in his honor and Jack and I will be doing just that on his birthday. To read Noah's story click here.

GRAVITY WAVE?????

OK so Monday morning Stuart got up to feed Jack at 3am and thought to himself... "Something looks weird outside I don't remember those leaves being there." Then at 6am I got up and said to myself... "wow, it looks a lot more woodsy outside." walked into the bathroom window and saw nothing but leaves, which was strange. But, when I went to let the dogs out and saw a branch peeking around the corner waving it's little limbs at me, I knew it was bad...

Apparently we were hit by a phenomenon called a Gravity Wave Sunday night... and for what ever reason our once faithful oak tree decided it was done shading our back yard and took the first gravity wave out of there... everyone is fine, we never even woke up, we had TONS of people driving by and we even made the Decatur Daily.

Easter Sunday 2009

Easter Sunday started with everyone going to church and then we went to Aunt Linda's for a big birthday/Easter lunch. We had good food and good company. The pictures are a little out of order below (it is hard to arrange them when I am not using my MAC.)

Jack fell in love with cousin Williams car so we had to go to WalMart at get Jack one of his own and of course I can't be in "Posh Mommy" standing if I didn't make it his own, so that what I did with help of my cricut, some sticky vinyl and a little re-straitening Jack has his own Monogram Mobile (also known as the Danger Kart by his father.)

Stuart said his trunk (which is in the front) is for his road kill...

This was first ride in Williams car... he is wearing the outfit Mrs. Jeannie from mommies work got for him.
Sarah Laine posing for the camera while pretending to push jack...

Sarah Laine acting like a frog made Jack giggle...

Ready Set Race

This Saturday Stuart had a race in Birmingham at the Barber Motor Speedway, Jack and I tagged along since we do not often get to see him race. We also met Aunt Annie and she came to spend time with Jack. This place is so cool, they had awesome sculptures around as well...

Of course you couldn't miss these beauties, I assume they use them to race on the track. They also have a motor museum there, we didn't get to go but I think it would bee fun to check it out sometime.

Aunt Annie and Jack played the whole time, he was such a good baby until Andrea did an impression of Aunt Sophie pitching a fit which involved screaming (as any good fit would) and Jack's little lip curled up and quivered right before he turned into full meltdown. She tried to make him laugh by throwing his blankie over his head but as you can imagine this made it worse.

Stuart did so good he was in the lead for most of the race and his team Tria Market came in 3rd.

Daddy stopped in for a photo opp right before he was off to the races (sorry these aren't in chronological order)

If you look REALLY REALLY close I have put a red circle around Stuart so you can see, but also telling you he is at the head of the pack would have been just as good :)

Jack took some time to play on his pallet...

Laid back and watched the race...

Again, daddy in the front...

And a little tickle time with Aunt Annie

What a great day!

Jesus' Resurrection

Mark 16: 1-8

1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalena, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.

3 And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?

4 And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.
5 And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.

6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.
7 But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.
8 And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid.
